I am convinced that all serious and chronic mental health issues begin in narcissistic families. I have a friend with a severe childlike presentation of what might be called disorganized schizophrenia. The family dynamics, the neglect, gaslighting, the insults and bullying from his narcissist brother are so unmistakable. The parents could not better match descriptions of the schizophrenogenic parents. He is also thoroughly locked in a cycle of overmedication and extremely strong rebound psychosis. He has never had real therapy, and is clearly traumatized. I also have reason to believe there may have been some sexual abuse. How do I help him? I don’t believe he is incurable, and I don’t really believe in schizophrenia. “Split mind” as it roughly translates is a half baked metaphor at best, but the pseudo Greek exoticism certainly does raise the perceived erudition the runty stepchild of medicine psychiatry is desperate for. Seems like more of a eugenic insult from a very primitive and ableist society.

In reply to Sarah. Hi Sarah, I always appreciate you comments, thank you. If your family wants to take the training, I definately offer scholarships. All that I really require is the willingness to attend the whole thing. I am not really changing the content or shaving it down. I am just trying to speak to trainees to get ones who are motivated to consider an alternative approach. I am creating a promotional presentation to motivate people to consider joining the longer presentation.Approaching private foundations is a good idea for the future, once I can get enough people interested.

Dear Tim, I would like for our family to receive this training. Please let me know how can participate. I don’t think you should cater to the graduate schools and try to convert your hard won knowledge into sound bytes and bumber stickers. I suggest you stay the course until you find partners willing to invest in the full 16-20 hour training in its original format. Lord knows how much time you invested in developing the training to begin with and how much edits its already been subjected to. I think if you don’t give up you will eventually find the right audience: mental health professionals, consumers, survivors, and family members who know the current paradigm of mental health care is cruel and ineffective. This audience is hungry for this knowledge and they should be willing to pay a fair price to access it, even if it requires a sacrifice. Perhaps, in addition to seeking graduate schools as sponsors, you could approach private foundations to make the training available to low-income folk?

A psychosis is in a way a mini-protest at society, and often a spiritual awakening.
Some people have “psychosis” by the use of drugs, and verry often a ~psychosis/skitzofrenia is a short therm in the bloody dsm, for someone with a /wrong religion, nothing more nothing less~ is actually caused by so called anti-psychotica.. the real problem is people are diagnosed by symptoms that effects a human being, and NOT by the causes, like bad housing, stress and little excersize and a bad diet. Slowely solve this and there be less mentally sick people, but the economic systems thrives on a sick society. This has to stop, or we will all be doomed in the end. Especially psychiatry has abused its power and doesn’t really function to create a better society, but keeps the politicians and lawyers afloat, while the judges think they important and make alot of easy money. There is too much corruption in this world to believe all this bullshit anymore, and some people just go kaka.
